Iran secured qualification with a 2-2 draw against Uzbekistan on March 25, moving seven points clear of third-placed UAE with two games left.
Argentina became the latest addition after Bolivia’s draw with Uruguay mathematically confirmed their spot, keeping them atop the CONMEBOL standings.
The 2026 World Cup, set for June 11 to July 19, will feature an expanded 48-team format, with 12 groups of four.
The top two teams from each group, plus the eight best third-placed teams, will progress to the round of 32.
