Black Stars Aimed to Win Back Hearts After AFCON Miss – Randy Abbey—–Chairman of the Black Stars management committee Randy Abbey says the Black Stars were determined to repay Ghanaians for non-Africa Cup of Nations qualification following back-to-back wins in the World Cup qualifiers.

The West African giants triumphed over Chad and Madagascar this international break to boost their chances of qualifying for the biggest soccer mundial to be staged in the USA, Canada and Mexico.

The Black Stars cruised to an emphatic 5-0 win at the Accra Sports Stadium in the fifth round before recording a 3-0 away win over Madagascar in Morocco on Monday night.

Arsenal star Thomas Partey scored twice in the 11th and 53rd minutes before Mohammed Kudus capped the night with a goal in the 58th.

The back-to-back wins has propelled the Black Stars to the summit of Group I, accumulating 15 points, boosting the teams World Cup qualification chances.

“It was a difficult game against Madagascar, but the players and the entire team were determined to make sure that we made up for the non-qualification to the AFCON” he told 3Sports in an interview.

The Black Stars has now taken a commanding lead in Group I, with four games to end the qualification for the biggest soccer mundial. Ghana will return for the continuation of the qualifiers in September 2025.
